Manual Osteopathic Therapy
Manual Osteopathic Therapy is a gentle hands on approach to treatment that focuses on assessing and treating the body as a whole. Unlike massage therapy, which primarily focuses on soft tissue treatment, Manual Osteopathic Therapy works through multiple systems of the body including structural alignment, fascia, circulation, nervous system function, and visceral manipulation to identify and address the root cause of dysfunction. Each treatment is individualized to support balance, improve overall function, and promote the body’s natural healing process.

Things to know
Manual Osteopathic Therapy
Manual Osteopathic Therapy is a gentle, hands-on approach that focuses on assessing and treating the body as a whole. Rather than focusing only on the area of discomfort, treatment considers how different structures and systems of the body work together and how restrictions in one area may affect another.
Treatment may involve a combination of techniques including osteoarticulations, myofascial remodeling, craniosacral therapy, manual lymphatic therapy and visceral manipulation. These techniques are used to address restrictions in joints, muscles, fascia and other tissues while supporting circulation, mobility and overall body function.
What to Expect During Your Treatment
Your appointment begins with a discussion about your health history, current concerns and treatment goals. This is followed by a series of assessments to evaluate posture, movement, joint mobility, bone alignments and areas of restriction throughout the body.
Based on these findings, I will develop a treatment plan and use appropriate hands-on techniques to address the areas of dysfunction identified during your assessment. Treatments are generally gentle, as they are designed to work with the body not against it.
What Should I Wear?
Manual Osteopathic Therapy is performed while you remain fully clothed. Please wear comfortable, flexible clothing that allows for easy movement and access to different areas of the body. Leggings, athletic pants, shorts and a comfortable T-shirt are great options.
Avoid thick or bulky clothing such as heavy sweaters, jeans or multiple layers, as these can make assessments and hands-on techniques more difficult.
The Goal of Treatment
Manual Osteopathic Therapy aims to improve mobility, reduce pain and tension, and support better overall body function. By considering the relationships between different areas of the body, treatment looks beyond the immediate symptoms to address contributing restrictions and encourage lasting improvements in comfort and movement.
